Overview

Job Advert: Tutor (Hindley, Wigan). We are seeking dedicated Tutors in Hindley (Wigan) to provide Maths & English tuition from Early Years through to KS4. You will work with vulnerable pupils, including those awaiting SEN placements or in care, delivering primarily face-to-face tuition in community settings.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Maths and English tuition to pupils from Early Years through KS4, focusing on 1:1 or small-group sessions
  • Develop and deliver learning plans tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Adopt a patient, empathetic approach and, where needed, a therapeutic approach to re-engage learners
  • Establish structure in daily routines to support educational development and reintegration into educational settings
  • Monitor pupil progression and submit weekly reports

Further Information

The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting. Tuition takes place generally in school daytime hours but occasional opportunities after school 3-4pm and evening occur. Sessions can range between 1-4 hours on a daily or weekly basis.
