Salary: starting £27,129 per annum pro rata (actual £25,389.70) plus £579 pro rata London weighting (actual £347.40); negotiable based on experience and qualifications

Grade: TUTLEC 1 – 6 depending on qualifications and experience

Permanent: Term Time only; 40 weeks per year (48.8 paid weeks including leave & bank holiday entitlement)

Hours per Week: 22.2 (Teaching allocation is 492 hours per academic year)

Thurrock Adult Community College is the local authority’s provider of adult education for Thurrock. Our main base is in the Old Court House in Grays, but we deliver courses across the borough.

You will be responsible for planning courses and lessons, creating resources, teaching lessons, and marking learners' work and giving developmental feedback.

Experience of teaching adults is required.

Experience of delivering Functional Skills English is required.

You will have a good command of English with at least a GCSE grade 4/C level 2 qualifications in maths and IT, a level 3 Award in Education and Training, and an English teaching specialism – at L4 or L5. If you do not have an English specialist qualification, you will be expected to work towards this within your first year of employment.

DBS: An Enhanced DBS check with Children’s Barred List is required.
