Job description

Prospero Teaching is partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK, providing educational support to individuals outside mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced 1:1 Tutor to support students not accessing mainstream education, from EYFS to KS5.

Due to the nature of the students we support, it would be beneficial for applicants to have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Position Details:

• Location: Various locations across Barnsley
• Position: 1:1 Tutor
• Type of work: Contract
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: Likely dependent on each student, ongoing
• Contract type: Temporary
• Full/Part time: Flexible depending on availability
• Pay rate: Minimum GBP25 per hour
• Hours: Sessions ranging from 1 to 3 hours

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• QTS or equivalent
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
• UK classroom teaching experience
• Creativity, patience, and innovative thinking
• SEN experience

Eligibility:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply
• Two professional child-related references
