Job summary

Kids Planet is seeking an experienced Tutor/Assessor to deliver Apprenticeships in Early Years Childcare up to level 3 (level 5 preferred) across the Midlands. This role includes face-to-face, online group and 1:1 tutorials, and observing learners in their settings.

You will plan initial assessments, manage learner portfolios, deliver Functional Skills, and design CPD courses for internal staff, with travel to training and meetings from the Knutsford head office.

Qualifications

• Assessor award (D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA) or willingness to work towards
• Teaching qualification such as Level 3/4 CET or equivalent (desirable)
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in early years
• Experience delivering Apprenticeships in Early Years Childcare levels 2/3 (level 5 ideal)
• Experience delivering Functional Skills up to level 2
• Solid occupational competency in Early Years; team leading/QA/IV experience a plus
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle

Responsibilities

• Assess and support learners across early years employers for Apprenticeships up to level 3 (level 5 ideal).
• Observe learners in settings to gather evidence toward the Apprenticeship.
• Plan initial assessments and course reviews; create learner portfolios.
• Deliver and assess Functional Skills (Maths/English/ICT).
• Design and deliver CPD courses to internal staff.
• Liaise with nursery managers to maximise evidence collection and schedule visits.
• Organise documentation on learner progress and provide support and motivation.

Job description

Kids Planet is an independent, family run group of nurseries providing the highest standard of nursery care across the UK.

With the ongoing successful growth of Kids Planet Day Nurseries Training Academy, we are pleased to announce we are looking to recruit an experienced & qualified Tutor/Assessor with solid occupational experience within the Early Years sector to deliver Apprenticeship standards up to level 5 including Functional Skills up to level 2 and CPD training primarily. This role will be based in the Midlands Area. Our head office is based in Knutsford and occasional travel will be required for training and meetings.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Assess and support learners across early years employers working towards Apprenticeships in Early Years Childcare up to level 3 (and ideally Level 5). This will include delivering face to face, online group and 1:1 tutorials at selected settings
• Observing learners in their setting to gather evidence towards their Apprenticeship
• Planning and implementing initial assessments and course reviews with learners - Creating learner portfolios on one file to agreed standards
• Delivery and assessment of pertinent functional skills
• Design and delivery of CPD courses to internal staff
• Close liaison with nursery managers/mentors to maximise efficient collection of evidence
• Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.

The ideal applicant will possess:

• A recognised Assessor award: D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA. (or willing to work towards)
• Recognised teaching qualification: e.g. Level 3/4 Certificate in Education and Training or equivalent (desirable)
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in early years
• Experience of delivering Apprenticeships in Early Years Childcare levels 2/3 and ideally level 5
• Experience of delivering Functional Skills (Maths / English/ICT) up to level 2.
• Hold solid occupational competency within Early Years - It would also be an advantage if candidates hold experience of Team Leading, Management and QA /IV award
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
