Job summary

The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited (AELTC) is seeking a Groundsperson to support year-round maintenance and presentation of grass, clay and other surfaces across our Wimbledon venues.

You will work with a skilled team, operate a range of machinery, and contribute to sustainable turf management practices during The Championships and beyond. Flexibility for evenings, weekends and safety-conscious teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Sports Turf Management.
• PA1 and PA6A certification or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• Proven practical experience in grass court maintenance to competition standard.
• Knowledge of turfgrass performance and health management.
• Full UK driving licence (Category B).

Responsibilities

• Assist with grass court care and daily maintenance across venues.
• Apply fertilisers and plant protection products per guidelines.
• Mow, mark out and prepare courts to Championship standards.
• Operate machinery safely and effectively.
• Support renovation programmes and environmental sustainability practices.
• Maintain other surfaces and grounds across venues.
• Set up courts for play and manage equipment and irrigation.
