Job summary

Cummins is seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Summer (12 Weeks) Placement Student to join our Turbocharger team in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. You will gain exposure to how a global engineering organization operates and contribute to the ongoing development of Cummins products.

Role requires onsite presence 3 days a week and availability to travel or relocate as needed. Open to candidates eligible for a placement year, commencing Summer 2027.

Qualifications

• Study towards a STEM degree.
• Ability to work successfully as part of a team.
• Strong desire to learn and apply science/engineering concepts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with global stakeholders to support development of Cummins products.
• Develop problem-solving skills by designing, testing, and analysing components.
• Collaborate with stakeholders by raising test requests and presenting test data and conclusions.
• Assist in concept design, development and testing of future turbo machine technology.
• Learn internal workings of a turbocharger through strip downs, inspections and failure analysis.
• Contribute to research and investigation of new materials and test techniques.
