Overview of Role
Play a key role in the assembly and fabrication of large x-ray tubes. The role will primarily involve the running of all facets of the welding process in the tube production area. The Welder will be responsible for the operation of the clean room welding plant and the recruitment, assessment, and training of all welders within the tube assembly department. The Welder will also be responsible for all safety related processes and compliance associated with the welding process (Compressed gasses, COSH, HSE etc.). Additionally, the Welder will support the manufacturing engineer in promoting continuous improvement within the tube assembly process to reduce assembly times whilst monitoring quality and output.
HNC or ONC in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or suitable work experience would be desirable but is not essential.
