Supporting Healthcare Heroes UK is seeking dedicated trustees to provide strategic oversight and ensure effective support for healthcare workers affected by Long Covid. This role offers a significant opportunity to shape the charity's direction and enhance its advocacy and support efforts.
Applicants should be passionate about healthcare issues, and while prior trustee experience is not essential, skills in social media, communications, or healthcare are highly valued. Trustees will contribute to a mission that directly impacts the lives of healthcare professionals across the UK.
Help shape the future of Supporting Healthcare Heroes UK. As a trustee, you’ll provide strategic oversight, support good governance, and help ensure the charity delivers meaningful support and advocacy for healthcare workers affected by Long Covid.
Supporting Healthcare Heroes UK (SHH-UK) exists to support healthcare workers whose lives have been affected by Long Covid. Since our launch, we have provided peer support, shared evidence-based information, amplified the voices of healthcare workers, and advocated for improvements in workplace support, healthcare access, and infection prevention measures.
As a trustee, your contribution will directly influence our ability to continue and expand this work. By providing strategic oversight, expertise and guidance, you will help ensure the charity remains sustainable, effective and focused on delivering meaningful impact for the healthcare workers we support.
Your involvement will help SHH-UK:
We are a small charity with ambitious goals, so trustees have the opportunity to make a visible and meaningful contribution. Whether your expertise lies in communications, digital development, fundraising, volunteer management, social media or clinical practice, your skills can help us strengthen our reach, increase our impact and improve the support available to healthcare workers across the UK.
Most importantly, by helping SHH-UK grow and thrive, you will be contributing to a future where healthcare workers affected by Long Covid are listened to, supported, and able to access the practical, financial, occupational and healthcare support they need. Your work as a trustee will help ensure that the experiences of healthcare workers continue to inform policy, practice and public understanding, while also supporting efforts to prevent others from experiencing similar harm.
This is an opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a lasting difference to a community that has given so much in caring for others.
We are looking for people who are passionate about our mission and committed to helping Supporting Healthcare Heroes UK (SHH-UK) make a positive difference to healthcare workers affected by Long Covid.

As a small charity, we value trustees who are willing to contribute not only at a strategic level but, where appropriate, by sharing their expertise, supporting projects, making connections, and helping us develop new opportunities. Enthusiasm, commitment and a genuine desire to make a difference are just as important as professional experience.
If you share our commitment to supporting healthcare workers and want to use your skills to help shape the future of a growing national charity, we would love to hear from you.
