ThickSkin Theatre is seeking a trustee with a background in accounting or financial management. This voluntary role involves attending board meetings and contributing to the governance of the organization. Ideal candidates will have experience at a senior level and a passion for the arts.
ThickSkin Theatre is an award-winning touring company. We are an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation and a driving force in Wigan Borough’s growing cultural ecology. We create exciting new theatre productions in our studio theatre in the heart of Wigan town, serving as a launchpad for national and international touring, reaching audiences across the world.

The role is voluntary, with a commitment to attend four Board meetings and four Finance sub-Committee meetings per year. All meetings typically last two hours and are held via video call. We also hold one board ‘away day’ per year (personal travel expenses for non-local trustees are reimbursed). Between meetings, we may ask for attendance at events, advocacy, and ad hoc support. Appointments are for an initial term of three years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional three years.
