Job summary

AJ Chambers seeks a skilled private client trust professional to join our Trust Team in the UK, handling accounting, administration and tax affairs for UK resident trusts and assisting on non-UK trusts and advisory work.

The role requires ACA, CTA or STEP, 3–5 years' experience in private client trust accounting, strong Word and Excel, and ability to mentor juniors and meet HMRC deadlines with initiative.

Qualifications

• ACA, CTA or STEP qualified.
• 3–5 years of experience in private client trust accounting and tax reporting.
• Experience with family offices, landed estates and high net worth families is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision and to develop junior staff.
• Organised and able to manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Shows initiative and resilience with a positive, learning mindset.
• Good computer skills including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mixed portfolio of UK resident trust clients and the annual compliance work (trust accounts and self-assessment tax returns).
• Assist senior staff on advisory work, including IHT planning, succession planning and wealth preservation and trust restructuring reports.
• Prepare and attend client meetings and liaise with clients, co-professionals and HMRC.
• Prioritise and organise own work to meet client and HMRC deadlines with independence and initiative.
• Mentor and develop junior staff through delegation and review of work.
