Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has a vacancy at Trust Specialty Registrar level. The post is vacant from August 2025 until August 2026 and is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.
The successful applicant will join the middle tier rota in this popular teaching department. The post is ideal for registrar-level candidates seeking more urology experience and support from a team of consultants in a busy unit. The department offers a broad mix of core urology, including HoLEP, ureterorenoscopy, TURP, and subspecialties such as robotic renal surgery, pyeloplasty, radical prostatectomy, PCNL, mini-supine PCNL, and andrology. Candidates aiming to strengthen their experience before obtaining a specialist training number are encouraged to apply, with a proven track record of fellows progressing successfully at the National Selection.
The role involves participation in a 1:7 on-call rota, which is non-residential.
The post is suitable for Pre-FRCS candidates with extensive registrar experience in urology. The department offers a supportive environment with tailored supervision and training based on experience. Opportunities for exposure to various specialties are available to support future CCT applications.

The role includes outpatient clinics, LA TP prostate biopsies, flexible cystoscopy lists, and at least one full day in theatre supported by a consultant. The on-call duties involve managing emergency urology inpatients, providing advice to other specialties, and reviewing ED referrals, with support from the on-call consultant. Teaching and training opportunities are actively supported.
