The Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to manage all aspects of its academy properties, including upkeep, care, maintenance, security, health and safety, and facilities management. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Trust's central management team and will have contact with Head teachers, staff, and external organizations.
Main Purpose
To manage all aspects of the Trust’s academy properties, including upkeep, care, maintenance, security, health and safety, and facilities management in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver the Buildings and Estates Strategy alongside the CEO and CFO
- Assist with the development of bids for capital funding opportunities
- Develop and implement building projects, acting as project manager where necessary
- Ensure all estates and buildings management systems are consistent across all academies
- Develop a system for recording, prioritizing, tracking, and reporting building/estate issues
Policies
- Monitor and update the Trust's H&S and buildings policies
- Review and develop existing and new policies in line with statutory requirements
- Develop and monitor business continuity planning
Security
- Maintain the security of school premises as a key holder
- Carry out regular checks of CCTV, alarm systems, and security appliances
- Advise on school security and safety matters
Management Information and Record Keeping
- Develop and maintain business management records for asset maintenance and management
- Ensure accurate and detailed floor and site plans are kept and updated regularly
Health and Safety
- Ensure fire risk assessments and other statutory testing and inspections are completed in a timely manner
- Coordinate and ensure implementation of the Trust's health and safety responsibilities
HR
- Ensure academy cleaners/premises staff are carrying out duties as set out in I Am Compliant
- Develop cross-school working using cleaners/premises staff skill sets
- Ensure training for cleaners/premises staff is up to date and appropriate
Responsibilities
