Job description

This post will support a senior candidate who would like to work less than full time in order to allow time for a research project.

Candidates will be expected to present a fully funded research project that they will undertake alongside this post starting in October 2025.

The project will be assessed on its scientific merit and does not necessarily have to be within a specialist UGI field, but must have potential to lead onto a higher degree.

This role would allow the post holder to receive some training and experience in specialist hiatal surgery clinics whilst also maintaining emergency surgical skills on the on call rota. The post holder will cover one slot on a 14 person, split shift registrar rota, as well as 30 days a year of UGI surgery clinic.
