Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire, England

£55k - 70k per year + Benefits

Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for a Trust Manager to join a successful company based in St Albans, Herts.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Trust Team, reporting directly to Directors and Partners, managing a diverse portfolio that includes charitable trusts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a varied portfolio of UK resident and charitable trusts, ensuring deadlines for annual accounts and tax compliance are met.
  2. Review work prepared by team members, providing training and mentorship.
  3. Assist with advisory work and ad-hoc matters, including high-level taxation and inheritance tax advice.
  4. Liaise with tax, accounts, and financial planning teams to ensure a coordinated approach.
  5. Monitor budgets, chargeability, and raise fee notes.
  6. Experience with charitable trusts, probate work, and estate accounts is advantageous but not essential, with opportunities for development in these areas.

IT Skills:

  • Knowledge of CCH Trust Accounts and CCH Personal Tax is advantageous; the firm uses CCH Practice Management System.
  • Ideally CTA and/or STEP qualified or aspiring to achieve STEP qualification.
  • Alternatively, qualified by experience.

Working Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of trusts.
  • Good communication, organizational, and team skills.
  • Flexible, dependable, proactive.
  • Motivated, resilient, with a positive outlook.
  • Ability to build confidence, respect, and trust quickly.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with flexible office hours.
