Job summary

G2 Legal Limited is seeking an experienced Trust Manager to lead a portfolio of trusts in Glasgow. You will advise on establishment, day-to-day management, compliance, tax and accounts, and winding up, acting as the main client contact with discretion on sensitive family and financial matters.

You will arrange trustee meetings, work with intermediaries and other professionals, and support the development of junior colleagues in a collaborative, ambitious Private Client team.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a portfolio of trusts, including complex or high-value matters.
• Sound knowledge of trust law and taxation (Income Tax, IHT, CGT).
• Ability to explain complex matters clearly to clients and beneficiaries.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• STEP or ATT qualification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead on administration of trusts including establishment, ongoing management, compliance, tax and accounts, and winding up.

Trust Manager – Glasgow

A leading Scottish law firm with a growing national presence is looking to appoint an experienced Trust Manager to its Trust Advisory and Compliance team in Glasgow. You’ll run your own portfolio of complex and high-value trusts, working closely with the wider Private Client team.

The role

You’ll lead on the administration of a portfolio of trusts, advising on their establishment, day-to-day management, compliance, tax and accounts, through to winding up. You’ll act as the main point of contact for clients and beneficiaries, handling sensitive family and financial matters with discretion.

You’ll also arrange and conduct trustee meetings, work closely with intermediaries and other professionals, and support the development of junior colleagues.

About you

This role would suit a Trust Manager who:

• Has experience managing a portfolio of trusts, ideally including complex or high-value matters
• Has sound knowledge of trust law and taxation, particularly Income Tax, IHT and CGT
• Is confident explaining complex matters clearly to clients and beneficiaries
• Is organised, calm and detail-focused
• Holds, or is working towards, STEP or ATT qualification (desirable, not essential)
