Job description

Kettering General Hospital are looking to recruit an SHO, on a fixed term basis of 1 year, for maternity cover. There is scope for this to become a permanent role after the 12 month fixed term period. The successful candidate will provide patient care for the obstetric and gynaecological specialties in the Trust. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is housed in a single building with 33 Obstetric beds, 17 Gynaecological beds and 14 Special Care Baby Cots (4 designated intensive care). Approximately 3,800 mothers are delivered within the Department annually, and approximately 3,300 ladies are admitted to the Gynaecology Ward (including Day Cases). There are peripheral out-patient clinics at the Nuffield Diagnostic Centre, Corby, Isebrook Hospital, Wellingborough, Nene Park, Rushden and Market Harborough. The following services are provided within the department: 1. A Foetal Health Unit, which includes an Antenatal Day Case Unit and an EPAU. 2. Colposcopy and minor operations suite. 3. Out patient hysteroscopy clinic. 4. Ultrasound scanning and pre natal diagnosis service. 5. Medical termination of pregnancy service. 6. Infertility Clinic.
