NUH is seeking to appoint a Trust Grade doctor at ST3 or above to support our Rehabilitation Medicine service at the upcoming National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), opening in 2025. Candidates should have at least 4 years of post-graduate experience, including recent experience in rehabilitation medicine or related specialties such as neurology, geriatrics, major trauma, orthopaedics, or stroke.
The NRC, a 70-bed standalone hospital under Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, aims to transform rehabilitation care through multidisciplinary approaches, advanced training, and research. It will handle complex cases including neurorehabilitation, trauma recovery, and amputee rehabilitation.
This initial 12-month post offers the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement. If working in a 'world leading, national centre of excellence' committed to transforming UK clinical rehabilitation appeals to you, please click ‘Apply now’ to submit your application.
The role involves ward cover, on-call duties, outpatient clinics at City or QMC campuses, and contributing to the out-of-hours rota, including long days and nights. Applicants should have completed core medical training (or equivalent) and be GMC registered. UK experience is advantageous but not essential, as shadowing will be provided if needed.
You will be supported in developing your portfolio to meet set objectives, working under the supervision of a rehabilitation medicine consultant. Support is available for those aiming for a Portfolio Pathway application.
The NRC integrates research, innovation, education, and training with clinical practice. It is a hub for pioneering international research and attracting field experts, led by the University of Nottingham and Loughborough University.
