Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Trust Grade Lead Registrar doctor to join the Emergency Department at London North West University Hospitals (Northwick Park & Ealing Hospital). The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the care of patients in the Emergency Department (ED) and will have direct responsibility for patient management during shift coverage, including 08:00‑00:00 consultant presence and additional night cover from Friday to Monday at Northwick Park Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the ED during middle‑grade – passive coverage, working closely with the nurse coordinator to ensure efficient department operation.
  • Provide rapid assessment and triage to streamline patient flow and identify those requiring admission.
  • Participate in the care of patients in the Clinical Decision Unit, incorporating Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC).
  • Support training and development opportunities for junior staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum two years of experience leading an Emergency Department, with demonstrated autonomy in a district general hospital setting.
  • Valid life support courses and proof of competency before posting.
  • Ability to work 12 months as a senior ED decision maker, including at night, with primary work in Ealing Hospital and occasional shifts at Northwick Park Hospital.
