Trust Doctors (eqv to ST5) in Gynae Oncology Barts Health NHS Trust

Applications are invited for a Trust Doctor (equivalent to ST5) in Gynaecological Oncology at the Royal London Hospital, starting June 2025, for a duration of at least 6 months.

The role includes training in surgical management of gynaecological malignancies, as well as non-surgical treatments like medical oncology, radiotherapy, and palliative care, within the Gynaecology Oncology Team.

Candidates must have completed at least ST5 of higher training or equivalent and possess prior experience in Gynaecology Oncology. This position is not approved for training. If applying from outside the Deanery, approval for Out of Programme Training must be obtained, and candidates should consult their Training Programme Director.

The Royal London Hospital's Gynaecological Cancer Centre serves a population of approximately 1.7 million, providing comprehensive oncology services, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and palliative care. Surgical management is primarily conducted at the Royal London Hospital, which is undergoing further development as a centre for complex abdominal-pelvic surgery, led by the Gynaecological Oncology Department.

The department has six consultant gynaecological oncological surgeons, with extensive clinical nurse specialist, palliative, and pain management services. The hospital has a dedicated gynaecological ward with 20 beds for Gynaecological Oncology and benign cases.
