The Urology department at Whipps Cross is currently seeking a Research Clinical Fellow to support the delivery of our services. 80% of the activity will be clinical focused with the remaining 20% dedicated to research with Prof James Green. We are the High Volume Low Complexity (HVLC) Hub for Bart’s Health Urology services.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to work with existing staff to meet current NHS waiting times targets and other national performance targets. In-patient care at Whipps Cross is consultant led. The post holder will contribute to care of in-patients, rotating this responsibility with colleagues. There will be opportunities to train in Urological surgery, transperineal prostate biopsies, urodynamics, and flexible endoscopy.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be committed to postgraduate training, involved in supervising foundation year doctors, and teaching medical students during their Urology attachments. The research component aims for publications and presentations at various levels. A pay banding supplement is available for participation in the on-call rota at middle grade level, currently 1 in 8.
