A leading healthcare trust in the UK is seeking a Trust Doctor (ST1-2 Level) to join their Maxillofacial team. The role involves attending ward rounds, providing patient care, and participating in surgical procedures. Royal Surrey is looking to recruit a new Trust Doctor (ST1-2 Level) to collaborate with the existing Maxillofacial Clinicians and encourages all eligible applicants to apply. There will be an on call commitment associated with this role.
This is a fixed-term contract starting as soon as possible to 01st September 2026.
This job would be suitable for a candidate with full GMC registration and prior foundation and SHO experience at a minimum. Experience could be from outside the UK, however, prior experience of working in the NHS would be desirable. The SHO will take part in Theatre sessions, admission clinics, and minor surgery under local Anaesthetic and will also be included in the on call rota.
The Royal Surrey is proud to have an enthusiastic and dynamic team Maxillofacial Clinicians who share the common goal of providing excellent clinical care. The department is a busy regional referral unit for Head and Neck Cancer cases from hospitals in Surrey and North Hampshire
The duties of the SHO include attending the daily ward rounds, taking part in outpatient clinics and as assisting in the day to day care of the inpatients on Clandon ward. They will be expected to deal with A&E patients under the guidance of middle grades and consultants. There are both GA and LA operating lists which the SHO will be able to assist with, eventually moving to have their own LA lists of procedures appropriate to skill set. The SHO will be on an on call rota and again will be given guidance and support from the senior members of the team.
This post is recognised for training for the MFDS, MJDS and MRCS and is based in Guildford, with some visits to Frimley Park Hospital, Camberley and the North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke for outpatient clinics.
