Applicants are invited to apply for an ST1 Trust Doctor post in General Medicine across our Acute site William Harvey Hospital. This post will be fixed term for 12 months.
Within the General and Specialist Medicine Care group are departments including Cardiology, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Health Care of Older People, Neurology, Renal, Rheumatology, and Respiratory.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a license to practice and have completed the UK foundation programme or equivalent.
The appointee will be expected to cover for the absence of colleagues (including on-call cover) at short notice, e.g., sickness. Cover outside the rota requiring extra hours of work will be paid at nationally agreed rates and coordinated to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. The post holder will actively participate in training junior medical staff, supervise, educate, and assist medical students. Participation in clinical audits, journal clubs, and departmental teaching sessions is expected. Regular appraisals will be conducted, and engagement in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is required.
