A regional healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated trust doctor for a full-time position. The role involves supporting medical teams in Cardiology, Respiratory, or Gastroenterology, participating in the on-call rota, and engaging in clinical training. Opportunities for career development and support for MRCP and PACES are provided. This role is integral to delivering high standards of patient care in a collaborative healthcare environment.
These posts are for a trust doctor to support the Medical teams for a Fixed Term contract. This is a full-time post and the post holder would participate in the medicine on-call rota. The on-call rota is currently on a 1 in 17 basis with 2 core level equivalent doctors’ on-call for day shifts or night shifts.
The Trust is based on two acute sites with most medical services and specialties duplicated on each site. The Cardiology and Respiratory Services are based at Calderdale Hospital and the specialist gastroenterology wards are based at Huddersfield.
There are opportunities to work in either Cardiology, Respiratory or Gastroenterology. Details of each post will be available at interview and we will do our best to accommodate individual choices. For staff contracted for more than 6 months we routinely rotate into other specialities to ensure a broad exposure to the medical specialities.
There are weekly Medical Grand round teaching including journal club and Core medical teaching sessions in the Education Centre that covers a wide range of topics. There is separate training for non-technical skills such as handover and communication skills. CHFT has a well-equipped Clinical Skills Training Room with simulation mannequins for procedures such as chest drain insertion and central venous cannulation.
The Trust would encourage and support a doctor with obtaining their membership and any post holder preparing for MRCP and PACES will be supported. In addition we will support doctors with the sign off of competencies to allow individuals to apply for higher training.
