A regional healthcare provider in Huddersfield seeks a Trust Doctor for a full-time position in medicine. The successful candidate will support medical teams, participate in a flexible on-call rota, and contribute to various specialties such as Cardiology or Gastroenterology. Applicants must have an MRCP and be registered with the General Medical Council. Commitment to high-quality patient care and teamwork is essential, along with strong communication skills.
Job summary: These posts are for a trust doctor to support the Medical teams for a Fixed Term contract. This is a full-time post and the post holder would participate in the medicine on-call rota. The on-call rota is currently on a 1 in 17 basis with 2 core level equivalent doctors' on-call for day shifts or night shifts.
The Trust is based on two acute sites with most medical services and specialties duplicated on each site. The Cardiology and Respiratory Services are based at Calderdale Hospital and the specialist gastroenterology wards are based at Huddersfield.
There are opportunities to work in either Cardiology, Respiratory or Gastroenterology. Details of each post will be available at interview and we will do our best to accommodate individual choices. For staff contracted for more than 6 months we routinely rotate into other specialities to ensure a broad exposure to the medical specialities.
There are weekly Medical Grand round teaching including journal club and Core medical teaching sessions in the Education Centre that covers a wide range of topics. There is separate training for non-technical skills such as handover and communication skills. CHFT has a well-equipped Clinical Skills Training Room with simulation mannequins for procedures such as chest drain insertion and central venous cannulation.
The Trust would encourage and support a doctor with obtaining their membership and any post holder preparing for MRCP and PACES will be supported. In addition we will support doctors with the sign off of competencies to allow individuals to apply for higher training.

The Department of Health and Social Care has awarded capital funding to invest in local health services at both Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. This is a significant investment and an opportunity to enhance services for our populations in Calderdale and Huddersfield and West Yorkshire for generations to come.
The post holders will work within the general medicine specialty. The trust encourages staff to work as a team with other colleagues and take full part in the work. Participation in the on-call rota is negotiable.
