Grade: Band 6

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part time - 7.5hours per week (working 1 day a week on a flexible rota, including out-of-hours on call and weekend cover)

A chaplain is needed to support the work of the Pastoral, Spiritual and Religious Care Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

You will be based at the York Hospital site but be part of the Trust wide team, working 1 day a week (0.2wte) on a flexible rota.

As an autonomous, qualified practitioner the role is to seek out and respond to the pastoral, spiritual and religious needs of individuals, their carers and staff. In addition, the chaplain will also be expected to contribute to the out-of-hours on call rota including weekend cover.

The Pastoral, Spiritual and Religious Care Team, of which the Chaplain will be a member, provides for the spiritual, religious and pastoral needs of patients, staff and visitors within the Trust.

The team’s aim is to offer support which is sensitive, appropriate to individual need and which upholds our Trust Values and Behaviours.
