Trust Accountant - Herts

£40,000 to 55,000 plus excellent employee benefits

Our client is a leading law firm practice in the East of England. Their Trust and Wealth department, based in Herts, specializes in delivering comprehensive tax consultancy to individuals and families, consolidating their entire net worth. Their clients are typically Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) individuals or families, each of whom receives a tailored service.

Role Overview:

This Trust Accountant role involves preparing trust accounts and tax returns for UK and non-UK trusts, estates, and high net worth individuals, as well as administering these trusts and liaising with trustees and advisors.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  1. Prepare trust accounts and trust tax returns for UK and non-UK trusts and estates
  2. Administer these trusts, including liaising with trustees and other advisors
  3. Prepare accounts and tax returns for trusts, charities, estates, and high net worth individuals
  4. Prepare tax pool computations for offshore trusts
  5. Administer trusts, charities, and estates

The main criteria for candidates applying for this position include a strong trust accounting background and knowledge of onshore and offshore trust taxation. Other relevant accounting and taxation experience will be considered if demonstrated as transferable. Ideally, candidates will be:

  1. ACA, ACCA, CTA, or STEP qualified
  2. Experienced in trust accounting and trust taxation
  3. Possessing good communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Capable of delegating to and supervising junior staff
