Job summary

Matchtech represents a local authorities client seeking a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Engineer on a contract basis to support LNIP and capital schemes. The role focuses on TRO preparation, consultations, and implementation to ensure regulatory compliance and timely delivery of highway projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing and delivering TROs within local authorities or similar highways environments.
• Knowledge of traffic management legislation and statutory processes.
• Understanding of highway traffic management principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
• Ability to interpret legislation and apply it to highway schemes.
• Experience in stakeholder management and consultation processes.
• Skills in using GIS, CAD, or TRO management systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing the preparation and delivery of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
• Ensuring compliance with traffic management legislation, particularly the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
• Handling statutory and public consultations.
• Preparing technical reports and presenting recommendations to senior officers or elected members.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver highway or transport schemes.
• Managing competing priorities and meeting programme deadlines.
