Job summary

Matchtech represents a local authorities client seeking a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Engineer on a contract basis to support LNIP and capital schemes. The role focuses on TRO preparation, consultations, and implementation to ensure regulatory compliance and timely delivery of highway projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing and delivering TROs within local authorities or similar highways environments.
• Knowledge of traffic management legislation and statutory processes.
• Understanding of highway traffic management principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
• Ability to interpret legislation and apply it to highway schemes.
• Experience in stakeholder management and consultation processes.
• Skills in using GIS, CAD, or TRO management systems.

Job description

Our client, a highly respected local authority in the highways sector, is seeking a talented Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Engineer on a contract basis to support the delivery of the council's Local Network Improvement Programme (LNIP) and externally funded capital schemes.

In this role, you will work within the Traffic Management team, focusing on the preparation, consultation, processing, and implementation of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs). Your efforts will ensure compliance with relevant legislation and support the timely delivery of capital investment programmes, primarily associated with parking, speed limit, and movement restriction schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the preparation and delivery of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs)
• Ensuring compliance with traffic management legislation, particularly the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
• Handling statutory consultation and public consultation processes
• Preparing technical reports and presenting recommendations to senior officers or elected members
