THE TRUST
Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT) is a multi-academy Trust established in 2017.
It comprises three secondary schools: Barton Court Grammar School, an 11-18 years, mixed selective school in Canterbury, rated "Good" with many outstanding features by Ofsted in February 2020 and November 2024; The Charles Dickens School, an 11-16 years, mixed non-selective school in Broadstairs, rated "Good" by Ofsted in March 2023; and Barton Manor Free School, an 11–18 years, non-selective mixed school in Canterbury, opened in September 2022, with Y7-10 from September 2025, rated "Good" with many outstanding features by Ofsted in May 2025.
The Post
Trips and Finance Officer, BCAT £14,266 - £14,980 (£26,393-£27,713 FTE), all year round, 20 hours per week (4 hours Mon - Fri).
Starting from 1 October or as soon as possible, the Trustees seek to appoint a Trips & Finance Officer to support trip organisers and EVCs in planning day and overnight trips across all three schools within the Trust, as well as assisting the CFO with managing daily finance operations. The role is diverse and requires effective workload management. Responsibilities include ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time, organizing trips at zero cost to the school, and supporting the CFO in producing timely monthly monitoring reports for the CEO/Executive Headteacher, Trustees, and Headteachers.
This part-time role (4 hrs/day, 9am-1pm, all year round) mainly focuses on trip management, procurement, and cash handling. Experience in event organization and working within a school finance team is desirable. Training will be provided.
