A leading company in luxury fashion, Burberry is seeking a Procurement Assistant to enhance its procurement processes for raw materials. The role involves establishing supplier relationships, managing procurement activities, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. Ideal candidates will have a strong technical background in textile engineering, experience in sourcing, and fluency in both Italian and English, contributing to Burberry's commitment to excellence and sustainability.

JOB PURPOSETo assist with the procurement of raw materials – specifically trims – achieving and exceeding financial goals & functional quality standards, through the creation and maintenance of sound supplier relationships. Participate in the negotiation, acquisition, planning & utilisation of Raw materials/Trims whilst fulfilling cost & on time delivery targets.
RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain collaborative partnerships with suppliers, ensuring effective procurement and query resolution, timely 2 way communications, feedback on performance, highlighting risk/opportunity mitigation/creation – in line with company policies
Escalate to Manager all emerging risks and push for resolution
Drive & execute the placement of RM activities in line with the procurement critical path
Support in the RM consolidation and placement across the supplier base with a focus on data quality and format
Assist in optimising order management, capacity management and excess management
Assist in the tracking & monitoring of timely RM/Trim procurement deliveries in line with allocation and priority
Ensure relevant payments are issued to suppliers by issuing Purchase Orders and managing invoicing with internal accounts team
Implement excess management relating activities with suppliers (destruction, recycling, donation and resell)
Assist in coordinating the seasonal/annual review of excess, establishing reasons & suggesting improvement areas for mitigating risk
Participate in the review supplier performance management feedback & suggest appropriate response mechanism & action in accordance with guidance from Manager
Responsible for the effective use of systems and maintenance & accuracy of data
Excess RM stock payment
Previous working experience in Sourcing/Procurement
Ideally experience with trim/textile manufacturing
Proven experience with working with large technically qualified teams
Experience with negotiation, sourcing and procurement activities
Fluent in both Italian and English
