Job description

The post holder will be based within the diverse and experienced Research & Development team in Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and will be responsible for supporting and coordinating a research study into mental health in adults.

The post holder will be based within the Research and Development team based in Leeds but will be expected to work across the UK at our ten recruiting sites, when required. The Trial Coordinator will support and coordinate the Easy ECG project. The ideal candidate will have a mental health research background (e.g., psychology, nursing, health services research) and experience in trial coordination and recruiting service users into research.

The primary aim of this post is to ensure the smooth running of the project and the cost-effective use of resources. Responsibilities include setting up and running the research, applying for permissions such as from the Health Research Authority (HRA), and ensuring site setups follow established procedures. The role involves writing interim and final reports for funders and preparing papers for publication as part of an dissemination strategy.

The Trial Coordinator will lead trial coordination efforts, working autonomously and managing their workload. They will ensure high standards of practice at adoption sites in accordance with quality standards like ICH-GCP and professional conduct codes. Collaboration with sites, universities, the public, and research networks is essential. The post involves supporting sites in identifying and recruiting eligible mental health service users and carers, providing information and support, and ensuring adherence to research governance standards.

The post holder will also provide care and advice to service users and carers regarding their involvement in clinical trials, including managing adverse events, in close liaison with R&D departments.
