Position: Triage Nurse - UCC

Opportunity available for a Registered General Nurse to work within a Triage Team based in the West Midlands.

The team operates within an Urgent Care Centre (UCC) setting, with the primary responsibility of assessing patients and determining their need for medical assistance. Your role will include evaluating patients, considering the type of injury or illness, severity, symptoms, patient explanations of emergencies, and vital signs. You will typically be the first point of clinical contact for patients visiting the facility. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing patient assessments
  2. Reassessing patients waiting in the queue
  3. Initiating emergency treatment if necessary
  4. Managing and communicating with patients in the waiting room
  5. Providing education to patients and families when necessary
  6. Sorting patients into priority groups according to guidelines
  7. Transporting patients to appropriate treatment areas
  8. Communicating patient status to doctors and nurses

The role operates on a shift rota, including days, long days, and nights.

Hourly Rates:

  • Monday to Friday: £28.00
  • Saturday/Sunday: £32.00
  • Nights: £35.00
