Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location(s): Weston-Super-Mare to Gloucestershire

We’re looking for a skilled and qualified Tree Surgeon Team Leader to lead a small team in maintaining and caring for trees, hedgerows, and green spaces across Weston-Super-Mare and Gloucestershire. Your expertise will shape greener, safer, and more welcoming environments, making a visible difference to the lives of our customers and helping them feel proud of where they live.

What you'll be doing as a Tree Surgeon Team Leader

• Caring for trees and hedgerows – Planting, pruning, thinning, and felling trees safely and professionally.
• Making homes feel like home – Enhancing outdoor spaces that residents love.
• Problem-solving in nature – Tackling challenges like storm-damaged or hazardous trees.
• Using and maintaining specialist equipment – Chainsaws, chippers, shredders, and climbing gear.
• Collaborating and leading – Supporting a team of 2 and working together safely.
• Keeping things safe – Conducting site risk assessments and following regulations.
  
  

What We're Looking For

NPTC/Lantra qualifications:

• CS30 (201/202) – Chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting
• CS31 (203) and CS32 (301) – Felling trees
• CS40 (307) – Pruning
• NPTC – Chipper Operations
• Confidence in tree care, pruning, and climbing.
• Ability to use, clean, and maintain a range of hand and power tools.
• Extensive knowledge of trees, shrubs, and pruning techniques.
• Comfortable working at height – Confident and competent climbing ability.
• Full UK driving licence.
• A strong communicator and team player – Able to work well with others across teams and services.
• To be able to complete a basic DBS, which will be provided by Bromford.
