Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council is seeking an Arboricultural Operational Supervisor to oversee day-to-day arboricultural operations across the Neath Port Talbot area. The role involves supervising staff and contractors, planning work programmes, and ensuring safe, efficient delivery to required standards.

The post emphasizes tree inspections, responding to public enquiries, and maintaining health and safety systems. A Level 2 arboricultural qualification and a valid driving licence are expected.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in the arboricultural or related industry.
• Knowledge of tree inspections and management.
• Ability to supervise arboricultural staff and contractors.
• Good literacy, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Full driving licence and flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and coordinating arboricultural works and remedial tree works programmes.
• Supervising works undertaken by internal teams and external contractors.
• Carrying out tree inspections and arranging follow-up actions.
• Responding to tree-related enquiries and stakeholder communications.
• Maintaining health and safety standards and risk assessments.
• Supporting emergency work planning during storms or other pressures.
