Job summary

Mansfield District Council is seeking a skilled Tree Officer to manage, protect and enhance the District's tree stock, combining arboricultural work with planning responsibilities across the council. You will be the first point of contact for tree matters, providing specialist advice to staff, residents and contractors, and coordinating contractor works and on-site activities.

The role requires a degree in Arboriculture or equivalent and a full driving licence, with on-call duties and responses

Qualifications

• Degree in Arboriculture or equivalent required.
• Full driving licence essential.
• Experience with statutory bodies, residents and Councillors desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and protect the District's tree stock and support the Council's Tree Strategy.
• Provide specialist arboricultural advice to Council departments, Members, residents, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Respond to operational and emergency tree issues; investigate enquiries and complaints.
• Commission and supervise external contractors; ensure works are completed safely and to required standards.
• Coordinate day-to-day tree-related activity with strong attention to quality and compliance.
