Treasury Senior Manager - Investments

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Treasury Manager to join our Treasury team in London. This role offers a unique growth opportunity in our Treasury Markets team with the ability to have a direct impact on Wise's mission → Money without Borders.

Your mission

Wise has pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking. Your mission is to help us manage risks in real time and keep lowering our prices.

Our Markets team manages the risk on our GBP 110bn+ FX book and GBP 15bn of customer assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4 to manage Wise's safeguarded customer funds investment portfolio.
• Develop and execute investment strategies aligned with regulatory requirements and Wise's risk appetite.
• Optimize portfolio allocation across bonds, money market funds, and cash to maximize returns while ensuring liquidity and safety of customer funds.
• Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Spearhead initiatives to enhance trading capabilities, onboarding new products and systems.
• Implement technological improvements to streamline operations and reduce operational risk.
• Provide regular performance reports to senior leadership.

About you

• Proven experience in treasury management, especially fixed income investments.
• Strong understanding of bond markets, money market instruments, and cash management.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for safeguarded funds (a bonus).
• Experienced in building professional relationships with banks and counterparties.
• Experience managing a small team.
• Adaptable to change and collaborative.
• Proficient in prioritization and decision-making.
• Effective communicator of complex ideas.
• Experience delivering scalable tools, processes, or products in treasury environments.
• Open to problem-solving in fast-paced settings.

Preferred Skills (not essential)

• Experience in payments or fintech sectors.
• Knowledge of settlements and operational teams.
• Experience with Asset Management execution (Bonds, MMFs, etc.).
• ACT Qualifications.

Additional Information

Salary: £135k - £180k
