Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a Treasury Accounts Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to join the finance team. You will run reports from SAP and ERP systems to analyse receivables data, support discounting and factoring, and assist with month-end processes and reconciliations.

You will maintain cash movement records, prepare financial journals and collaborate with Finance, Credit Control and Shared Service teams. AAT study is beneficial, with strong Excel and ERP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Finance, Accounts, Treasury or a similar role.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confidence handling large volumes of financial data.
• A proactive and organised approach to work.
• Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams.
• Experience of SAP or similar ERP system.
• Studying towards AAT or another accounting qualification is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Running reports from SAP and other ERP systems to analyse receivables data.
• Supporting receivables discounting and factoring activities.
• Reconciling accounts, banking statements and financial records.
• Producing insightful analysis and reporting.
• Monitoring cash movements and preparing financial journals.
• Supporting month-end processes, audits and account reconciliations.
• Maintaining customer credit limits and factoring availability.
• Working closely with Finance, Credit Control and Shared Service teams.
• Assisting with treasury-related projects and process improvements.
