Job summary

Broster Buchanan is supporting a West Yorkshire local authority to recruit a Treasury Manager on a permanent, hybrid basis. The role focuses on cash management, investing surplus funds, and arranging borrowing, with a debt portfolio over £800m and cash balances exceeding £100m.

You will write the Treasury Management Strategy, report to senior leaders, and contribute to year-end accounts. The team embraces flexible hybrid working; regular office presence is expected but not five days a week.

Qualifications

• Experience with cash flow management, investments and borrowing decisions.
• Knowledge of public sector treasury rules and local government finance.
• CCAB, CFA or CISI qualifications welcomed; part-qualified considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash position and decide on investments or borrowing.
• Negotiate with brokers and arrange funding.
• Draft the Treasury Management Strategy and report to senior leaders and elected members.
• Record treasury entries in year-end accounts and respond to treasury queries.
