Job summary

Monese is seeking a senior Treasury professional to drive a major migration programme and oversee day-to-day treasury operations. You will work closely with finance, operations, technology and external partners to ensure milestones are met without disrupting liquidity, funding, payments and banking operations.

The role requires strong analytical and modelling skills, 5+ years in treasury, and knowledge of UK/European payments regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Treasury function in a financial institution, payments service provider, electronic money issuer or similar.
  • Understanding of UK and wider European payments and electronic money regulations.
  • Knowledge of Treasury ALM and Risk management concepts.
  • Experience in an EMoney, Payments or related company preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of treasury and banking migrations from planning to cutover and stabilisation.
  • Design payment flows in the e-money ledger and safeguarding flows for efficient use of capital and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop processes and procedures around safeguarding requirements.
  • Design reconciliation models for the core ledger and partner payment flows.
  • Set up reporting processes and data collection for financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Forecast and manage EMI capital requirements and operational liquidity with partners.
  • Scope treasury needs for new product integrations and ensure product alignment.
  • Build quality controls for treasury operations and related processes.
  • Manage ad hoc projects and support Treasury daily operations.
  • Collaborate with internal tech & product teams and liaise with external payment partners.

What you'll be doing:

This role will support the delivery of key treasury change initiatives, including a major migration programme, while also taking responsibility for the day to day operation of treasury activities. The individual will work closely with finance, operations, technology and external partners to ensure project milestones are met without disruption to liquidity, funding, payments, and banking operations.

  • The role requires hands on project management of treasury and banking migrations, owning end to end delivery from planning and stakeholder coordination through to cutover and stabilisation.
  • Designing the payment flows in the e-money ledger and related safeguarding flows to make most efficient use of the capital and meet the regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the design of processes and procedures around compliant and efficient safeguarding requirement
  • Designing the reconciliation models/processes for the core ledger and all the partner payment flows
  • Setting up the reporting processes and data collection around the financial and regulatory reporting
  • Building models and strategies to forecast and manage EMI capital requirements and operational liquidity at all our partners
  • Scoping and evaluating treasury requirements for any new product integration and ensuring these are met by the product
  • Conducting and building quality controls of various different processes and rules around the treasury operations
  • Managing ad hoc projects and putting out daily fires
  • Supporting Treasury team in daily operations
  • Working closely with internal tech and product teams and liaise with external payment partners in development and maintenance of treasury flows
What we are looking for:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Treasury function in a financial institution, payments service provider, electronic money issuer or in other similar field.
  • Understanding of UK and wider European payments and electronic money regulations
  • Knowledge of Treasury ALM and Risk management concepts
  • Experience in an EMoney, Payments or related company preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases strongly preferred
  • Accomplished in financial modelling and analytics
  • Analytical, strategic thinker with strong judgement and foresight
  • Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting or equivalent experience

Work Location

We are open to applicants based in London or Tallinn.

The primary place of work is Pockit's headquarters in Marylebone, London, or Telliskivi, Tallinn, where the role will be expected to be in the office 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday).
