Treasury Banking Assistant

Hybrid working; One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle Upon Tyne and from home

Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw)

£24,638 per annum plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan

As our Treasury Banking Assistant, you’ll join our small, friendly team, making sure all transactions for our key Home Group bank accounts are processed accurately and on time. You'll be responsible for reconciling bank accounts and matching them up with our general ledger, helping us stay on track and keep things running smoothly.

Typical day as Treasury Banking Assistant

  • Downloading and uploading bank transactions into our systems using digital banking tools, keeping everything running like clockwork.
  • Reconciling bank accounts and general ledger entries so that everything matches up, every time. You’ll resolve any discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Recording and processing cheques for key bank accounts, with all the right paperwork coded and banked daily.
  • Carrying out one-off payments accurately and promptly using electronic banking software, ensuring payments are promptly received in relevant accounts.
  • Keeping our Treasury Procedures Manual in tip-top shape by suggesting updates and sharing your learnings.
  • Liaising with our finance team, banks, auditors and other partners to keep things running smoothly and compliantly.

You bring

  • Association of Accounting Technicians qualification or have equivalent finance experience. You have used these skills in practice within a finance function or team.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office 365 confidently, including Word and Excel to manage and manipulate data effectively. An awareness of Power BI.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload to meet tight reporting deadlines. Able to maintain accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners to support smooth financial operations.

Job details

  • 37.5 hours per week. You’ll manage your own diary.
  • This is a hybrid role and you’ll spend a minimum of two days in the office and others working at home.
