Job summary

Northumberland County Council's Corporate Finance Team is seeking an experienced finance professional to join as a specialist in treasury management, cashflow forecasting, fixed asset accounting and asset valuations.

You will lead the day-to-day treasury operations, oversee investments and borrowing, manage the asset register and capital accounting, and provide expert financial advice to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when interpreting complex financial information.
• Confidence communicating technical finance matters to senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with auditors, advisers and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the Treasury Management function.
• Manage cashflow, investments and borrowing activities.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting and asset register.
• Coordinate asset valuations and capital accounting activities.
• Support statutory accounts production and audit requirements.
• Provide specialist technical finance advice to senior stakeholders.
• Build relationships with internal and external partners.
• Drive financial governance, compliance and continuous improvement.
