Job description

As a Travelling Technician at Britannic Explorer, a Belmond Train, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the train. Your duties will include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various train components, adhering to safety protocols for all mechanical and electrical systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and be part of a legacy of luxury travel.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

1. Preparing and disposing of the train, fueling, watering, and ensuring safe dispatch from the depot, while monitoring train performance during operation.
2. Attending to and rectifying any defects as they arise.
3. Servicing the train between journeys.
4. Performing maintenance examinations on train vehicles.
5. Servicing catering and gas equipment.
6. Unloading and receiving stores.

What You Bring:

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• At least 5 years’ experience maintaining and/or overhauling railway vehicles, preferably with Mk1, Mk3, or similar coach types.
• A good general education, with literacy and numeracy skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and industry partners.
• Craft training through a recognized electrical and mechanical apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, including the Rule Book, Railway Group Standards, Electricity at Work Act, etc.
