Job summary
Wirral Metropolitan College is seeking a part-time Lecturer in Leisure, Travel and Tourism to join our team in Birkenhead. This permanent role is 17.5 hours per week and offers a salary of £15,705 to £21,720 per annum.
You will deliver formal teaching, act as a personal tutor, and contribute to the ongoing development of learning materials and assessments. The successful candidate will have Level 3+ in Travel and Tourism or Aviation, a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one,
Qualifications
- Level 2+ English and maths required.
- Level 3+ in Travel and Tourism or Aviation/equivalent.
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards within an agreed timeframe.
- Solid teaching experience up to level 3.
- Working knowledge of current industry practice in Travel and Tourism.
Responsibilities
- Carry out formal scheduled teaching.
- Act as a personal tutor to a group/s of students.
- Prepare learning materials and students’ assignments.
- Marking of students’ work and examinations, moderation and verification.
- Operate as part of a team in monitoring, reviewing and evaluating programmes.
- Maintain college records and quality systems.
- Assist with annual unit self-assessment to monitor performance.
