Overview:

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a RN Traveler for the Stepdown/Med-Surg Admissions/Discharge Unit.

This is a temporary, full-time night shift position offering $70 per hour.

Department/Position Overview

This is a 16-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5, depending on acuity. The patient population includes IMC/Med Surg patients with conditions such as DKA, alcohol withdrawal, COPD exacerbation, sickle cell crisis, CHF exacerbation, renal failure, dehydration, and infections.

Qualifications
  • Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in Nursing
  • Virginia or Multi-State License in good standing
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • At least 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
Responsibilities

The RN will work collaboratively to maintain nursing standards, including patient assessment, admissions, discharges, medication administration, family communication, and overall patient care. The role encourages teamwork and professional growth.
