Job summary

BT Group in Cardiff is seeking a senior Architecture WAN Engineer to design and deliver complex WAN solutions for UK customers. You will lead core network upgrades, create precise designs, and drive standardization and automation while collaborating with vendors and stakeholders.

You will travel across Wales to support deployments and ongoing improvements, with a focus on security, reliability, and future-ready connectivity. A CCNP/JNCIP is desirable.

Qualifications

Experience with Cisco and Juniper routing platforms.
Design WAN and enterprise networks including edge, firewall, Wi‑Fi and data centre.
Ability to create clear low‑level designs and design standards.
Documentation of designs, templates and statements of work.

Responsibilities

Lead core network design activities for upgrades and complex WAN solutions.
Become SME for core network design and operations.
Create clear designs and documentation for customer edge, core and service-provider networks.
Support standardization, automation, and deployment.
Provide technical direction and fourth‑line support for complex issues.
