Job description

We are working with a highly regarded claimant law firm who are seeking a skilled Solicitor to join their specialist Personal Injury Travel Law team based in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with personal injury litigation experience who is passionate about international law and complex cross-border matters.

Files the team work on include:

  • RTA abroad involving complex jurisdiction and applicable law issues.
  • Claims under the package travel regulations.
  • Workplace accidents overseas.
  • Maritime and aviation accidents.
  • Group illness litigation.
  • Accidents occurring in the US and other jurisdictions.

You will play a key role in managing a varied caseload from instruction to resolution, often involving high-value and legally complex claims. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising clients on liability, quantum, funding and limitation.
  • Instructing medico-legal experts and managing expert evidence.
  • Drafting legal documents and preparing cases for trial.
  • Representing clients with professionalism and empathy throughout litigation.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, experts and counsel to drive case strategy.
  • Ensuring compliance with CPR and relevant professional standards.
  • Participating in business development activities such as writing articles, giving talks, and contributing to the team's growth.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified solicitor or legal executive (NQ+), with PI experience.
  • Demonstrable interest in travel or cross-border personal injury law.
  • Confident handling claims from early advice through to trial.
  • Strong understanding of schedule of loss preparation.
  • Ability to build strong client relationships with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Team player with solid time management and prioritisation skills.
