Job description

Axcis Education is proud to be partnering with a secondary SEMH provision in Torbay that supports students with complex needs, including SEMH and trauma. This small but dynamic school, home to around 30–40 students, provides a student-centred curriculum and exceptional facilities designed to support holistic learning and wellbeing. Position Details: Role: Learning Support Assistant Start Date: September 2025 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Pay: £90–£100 per day (£18,250–£20,256 annually), dependent on experience and qualifications Contract: Likely to become permanent after a successful trial period About the School: The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where every student can thrive. Their engaging curriculum includes: -Food technology with hands-on allotment experiences -Outstanding sports facilities and P.E curriculum. -Pastoral therapy, including art and music therapy What You Will Do: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in: -Supporting students with their academic, emotional, and social development -Helping maintain a calm, structured, and positive environment -Working alongside teachers and therapists to deliver a trauma-informed approach -Building strong, trusting relationships with students and staff What We’re Looking For: -Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (SEMH experience is highly desirable)-A calm, patient, and resilient nature, strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and a genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
