Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trauma Coordinator to join the Trauma and Orthopaedics team. You will coordinate patient flow and work with surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre teams, ED staff, ward teams, trauma nurse practitioners, physiotherapists and discharge coordinators to deliver timely, safe and effective trauma care across the pathway.

Trauma and Orthopaedics is recruiting! Working with us at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the coordination and delivery of high-quality trauma care. As a Trauma Coordinator, you will work closely with orthopaedic surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre teams, emergency department staff, ward teams, trauma nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, and discharge coordinators to ensure patients receive timely, safe, and effective care throughout their trauma pathway.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will be at the centre of trauma service management, coordinating patient flow, supporting achievement of national trauma standards, and facilitating communication across the multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to improving patient outcomes and ensuring an efficient trauma service from admission through to surgery and discharge.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide for the care and on-going management of trauma patients admitted to the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, including providing care for the presenting patient, frominitialhistory taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis,treatmentand evaluation of care. They will work autonomously as a senior professional within Trust and NMC policies, protocols and guidelines,demonstratingsafe, clinical decision-making,high levelsof critical thinking and holistic practice, adhering to trust values,policiesand procedures.

As a practitioner they will also be working within the national framework and adhering to statutory and regulatory requirements inclusive ofmaintaininga professional portfolio of practice and competence.

ThetACPwillassistwithaudit, research and developmentinitiatingthe implementation, evaluation and development of multidisciplinary guidelines and protocols, incorporating current best evidence in consultation with medical and nursing staff for the care of patients across the Trust.

The post holder will promote the concept of clinical governance andfacilitatethe implementation of the nursing/midwifery/AHP Strategy and work within agreed Trust/Unit protocols and guidelines.
