Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trauma Coordinator to lead the coordination of the trauma pathway, working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, safe and effective care from admission through to discharge.

The role emphasises clinical governance, continuous improvement and professional development within Trauma and Orthopaedics. You will contribute to audit, research and guideline development and support a patient-centered service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in trauma care coordination or clinical leadership is desirable.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage patient flow and contribute to service improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient flow across the trauma pathway from admission to discharge.
  • Support delivery of national trauma standards and clinical governance.
  • Liaise with surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre teams, ED staff, ward teams, trauma nurses and discharge coordinators to ensure timely, safe care.

Trauma and Orthopaedics is recruiting! Working with us at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the coordination and delivery of high-quality trauma care. As a Trauma Coordinator, you will work closely with orthopaedic surgeons,

anaesthetists, theatre teams, emergency department staff, ward teams, trauma nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, and discharge coordinators to ensure patients receive timely, safe, and effective care throughout their trauma pathway.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will be at the centre of trauma service management, coordinating patient flow, supporting achievement of national trauma standards, and facilitating communication across the multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to improving patient outcomes and ensuring an efficient trauma service from admission through to surgery and discharge.

Once established within the role, there are excellent opportunities for professional development, leadership experience, service improvement projects, and career progression within Trauma and Orthopaedics.

The post holder will provide for the care and on-going management of trauma patients admitted to the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, including providing care for the presenting patient, from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will work autonomously as a senior professional within Trust and NMC policies, protocols and guidelines, demonstrating safe, clinical decision-making, high levels of critical thinking and holistic practice, adhering to trust values, policies and procedures.

As a practitioner they will also be working within the national framework and adhering to statutory and regulatory requirements inclusive of maintaining a professional portfolio of practice and competence.

The tACP will assist with audit, research and development initiating the implementation, evaluation and development of multidisciplinary guidelines and protocols, incorporating current best evidence in consultation with medical and nursing staff for the care of patients across the Trust.

The post holder will promote the concept of clinical governance and facilitate the implementation of the nursing/midwifery/AHP Strategy and work within agreed Trust/Unit protocols and guidelines.
