Job summary

Paragon Social Care in the United Kingdom is seeking passionate and resilient Support Workers to care for children and young people in local authority care. You will provide compassionate, trauma-informed care, build positive relationships, and help with meals, education, and life skills in a safe, nurturing environment.

A full UK driving licence and access to a car are required, along with flexibility for wake nights, weekends, and safeguarding training; a DBS check is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, paid or voluntary.
• A full UK driver’s licence and access to your own car is required.
• Patience, empathy and emotional resilience are essential.
• A flexible approach including waking nights, weekends and sleep-ins when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to keep young people safe and supported.
• Build positive relationships and promote healthy routines.
• Prepare meals, support education, and encourage life skills.
• Advocate for the young person’s voice and ensure they feel heard and valued.
• Support medical appointments and community activities; transport when needed.
